An Email Address Built 4 2

So, can someone tell me about the joint email account appeal between spouses? Is this rather like a joint checking account? I mean, I can get into JJ's email if needed and he can log into mine, but really now... tell me about why the joint-ness.

I like that we have our own identity. It always feels weird to email one half of a joint email couple.
